Family Birthday

I really enjoyed watching the Olympics this year and I know a lot of you have too. But now that it's over, I think about how I'll soon be interested in other things and move on to another hype. As a culture, we always seem to move from hype to hype and we never get the satisfaction that we were made for. A lot of us (including me) try to fill our hearts with sports, music, movies when all we need is God. I'll admit, my interests change so quickly, I can't even keep up with them but I know that I'll always be interested in glorifying God because He lasts forever.

Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last; but we do it to get a crown that will last forever.
1 Corinthians 9:25

Last Saturday was the Annual Family Birthday. My great grandma flies down from Chicago to visit every year and we all get together and celebrate our birthdays with her. Here are some pics...

Grandma here,
Family Birthday, so much fun to have this annual event each year when Great Grandma visits. Yesterday she took a plane back to Chicago. It's a hard thing to say goodbye. She so enjoyed see everyone, catching up and being amazed by her talented great grandchildren. We are a blessed family to have such a prayer warrior doing battle daily on our behalf. Love you, Grandma

lyssa,
i love your post "from hype to hype" you are so right. It is a fun thing to watch but to live our lives looking for the next hype when we have the Creator, Almighty, God of the Universe. Makes you wonder.... What does He think of all the hype. i love you girl, Cant wait for our next family night! Uncle Tim
